Patrick stood up. He set the guitar down, forgetting he was still naked he said "Yeah, why are you here? Why now?"

He laughed for a moment. "Has your racous love-making pushed the Overlord from your mind so quickly? Get dressed, we're going after him." Faey sat up quickly, still holding the blankets around her. "Like hell you are!"

Patrick looked at Faey. "Sorry, but I have to go. We made a blood pact a long time ago..." Patrick put his boxers back on and looked around for his stuff.

She grabbed his arm. "No way, you can't o!" Varium raised an eyebrow at her, then sighed and shook his head. "I'll wait outside while you deal with your little lovetoy." After he disappeared out the window she turned back to Patrick, frantic. "Please don't go with him! You know that he could kill you, he almost did last time!"

"I know, but Varium is with me now. I have no choice.... I'm sorry.. Stay here. Get some sleep. I'll be back before sunrise. . ." He climbed out the window and looked at Varium. "Lets go..."

Varium nodded and ran off into the woods, changing after a few minutes to run faster. Faey watched them go off. clenching and unclenching her fists and feeling powerless. Dammit, he said he wouldn't... I should've tried harder to make him stay... God help me, if he dosen't come back, I'll... She couldn't even continue her thought, it was too painful. She got dressed and laid down on his bed, closing her eyes and counting the second... The minutes... 57 minutes and 23 seconds later the window was broken in. At 57 minutes and 24 seconds Faey managed a strangled scream before the man in the white lab coat knocked her out with a single punch to the jaw. 57 minutes and 38 seconds after Faey'd watched Patrick run off to fight the Overlord, she was being taken to see him herself.
Varium crouched in his human form 50 yards away from one of the caverns many openings, planning the best way to get in with Patrick. "We need to be quick, we don't have time for stealth. And the more of his lackeys we can pick off now, the better. I don't want to deal with them on the way out, assuming we get that far."
